Wadi Alshatti University is one of Governmental Institution that is located in the southern region of Libya (Fezzan) with 3500 undergraduate students, 250 Master students, 13 PhD students and, nearly 350 of whom graduate annually in a wide range of professions and fields. The university was established in the year 2022, and the university was founded on the basis of some faculties that were previously affiliated with Sebha University, such as the faculty of Engineering and Technical Sciences, the faculty of Law and the faculty of Education, Brack.
The University has Nine faculties: Engineering, Education, Environmental Science & Natural Resources, Law, Medical Technology and Food Sciences, Science, Economics & Political Science and Information Technology, offering a large range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. It supports a number of research centers and institutes including one large-scale research center which is located inside the main campus of the university: The Libyan Center for Studies and Research of Environmental Science and Technology.
The university has some scientific departments that are considered one of the most famous and oldest scientific departments at the local level as well as at the level of North Africa and the Middle East, such as the Department of Environmental Sciences, the Department of Medical Laboratories, and the Department of Food Industries, which were established in 1976.
The main campus of the University is in Brack city. The University’s mission is to be a research-led, international university, recognized for excellence in teaching, learning, research, creative work and administration. It aims to make a significant contribution to the advancement of knowledge and is committed to serving its local, national and international communities.
